The Origins of Family and Life Office

The Family is the nucleus cell of society, from which all life springs and lives forth (Familiaris Consortio, §42). At the 2025 Synod of the Bishops meeting, it was addressed that the Church is in deeper roots of crisis in the family with the effects of the war and growing societal pressures on families. Hence, the family as a social unit is in desperate need for integrated accompaniment and support with knowing about the truth and beauty of God’s Plan for all persons from conception to death. The Eparchial Family and Life Office is the place where each family member one can avail of various support, resources and accompaniment related to family and life issues such as;

• Marriage preparation 

• Psychological and inner healing spiritual support

• Couples counseling

• Family catechesis

• Parenting skills and care

• Specialized support for families affected by the war

• Pastoral support for priestly families

• Healing from addiction and abuse

• Bereavement support

• Natural Family Planning advice and consulting

• Theology of the Body

• Marriage Canon Law

• Seek support and advice in family communication, conflicts and development.

Our Eparchial Family and Life Office

Our Eparchial Family and Life Office is a pastoral resource and ministry that is dedicated to serving and accompanying all pro-family and pro-life; initiatives, communities, catechesis, formation and provide the necessary support and accompaniment in these areas in our Eparchy. Our Eparchail Family and Life Office works to support and promote Catholic Family values consistent with the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church according to the Byzantine tradition as well as practically ministering to, serving and accompanying families of all walks of life in our Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Toronto and Eastern Canada.
