Паломництво до святих місць Монреалю і Квебеку 16-19 травня 2025

У травні 2025 року понад 50 паломників із Торонто вирушили в глибоку духовну подорож до святинь провінції Квебек. Ця проща стала не просто мандрівкою — вона стала джерелом віри, єдності, щирої молитви та глибокого зворушення для кожного з нас.

Наша дорога почалась із відвідин величного Ораторію Святого Йосифа в Монреалі. Ми мали захоплюючий тур, під час якого дізналися про історію цього святого місця та життя святого Андре, якого з любов’ю називають покровителем Канади.

Після цього ми вирушили до української церкви Святого Михаїла, де разом молилися під час Божественної Літургії та Молебню до Богородиці. Нас з великою теплотою привітали отець-декан, Ігор Ощипко та настоятель храму отець, Ярослав Півторак. Особливо зворушливою була гостина, яку для нас приготувала парафіяльна громада — смачні страви, доброзичливість і справжня родинна атмосфера. Від усього серця дякуємо отцеві Ярославові, його дружині — добродійці Емілії, та всім парафіянам храму за цю надзвичайну турботу й гостинність, яку ми понесемо у своїх серцях.

У суботу, 17 травня, ми взяли участь у Службі Божій у чудотворній святині Our Lady of the Cape. Молитва в цьому Марійському центрі, поруч із численними свідченнями віри, додала нам духовної сили. Пізніше ми завітали до парафії Святого Йоакима, де отець Ігор благословив кожного з нас мощами святого Йоакима — батька Пресвятої Богородиці. Цей момент був дуже особистим і глибоко запам’ятався.

У неділю, 18 травня, ми прибули до історичної катедри Нотр-Дам-де-Квебек. Усередині храму ми молилися перед мощами численних святих, зокрема блаженного Владики Василя Величковського та єпископа Микити Будки — українських новомучеників ХХ століття.

По обіді ми вирушили до Базиліки Святої Анни, де мали глибокий та емоційно насичений тур. Тут ми дізналися про численні зцілення, чудеса, а також про роль святої Анни як матері Пречистої Діви Марії. Повернувшись до готелю, ми повечеряли, одягнули вишиванки — і з особливим трепетом вирушили на вечірню Літургію українською мовою в головному храмі Базиліки.

Це була справжня кульмінація всього нашого паломництва. Тиша та велич храму, Служба Божа українською мовою, щира і потужна молитва за мир в Україні, спів «Боже, Великий Єдиний», участь дітей як вівтарників і членів Марійської дружини, ми відчували присутність Святого Духа. Після Літургії ми молилися під час Адорації Найсвятіших Таїнств, взяли участь у процесії зі свічками та спільно звершили молитву Суплікації.

У понеділок, 19 травня, ми вирушили в дорогу додому. Упродовж усієї дороги в автобусі лунала спільна молитва, співи, духовні роздуми. Ми молилися вервицю, Ісусову молитву, ставили запитання, на які з великою терплячістю та любов’ю відповідав наш духівник — отець Ігор Гуска. Його постійна присутність, глибока духовність, душпастирське слово та відкритість до кожного прочанина стали безцінною підтримкою для нас усіх. Щира подяка отцеві Ігореві за те, що провів нас цією духовною дорогою.

Ця проща залишиться в наших серцях назавжди. Вона стала джерелом відновлення віри, зміцнення надії й поглиблення любові до Бога, до Церкви, до свого народу і до ближнього.

Pilgrimage to the Holy Sites of Montreal and Quebec: May 16-19, 2025

In May 2025, over 50 pilgrims from Toronto embarked on a deeply spiritual journey to the shrines of Quebec province. This pilgrimage was more than just a trip—it became a source of faith, unity, heartfelt prayer, and profound emotion for each of us.

Our journey began with a visit to the majestic Saint Joseph’s Oratory in Montreal. We enjoyed a captivating tour, during which we learned about the history of this sacred place and the life of Saint André, affectionately known as the patron saint of Canada.

Afterward, we traveled to St. Michael’s Ukrainian Church, where we prayed together during the Divine Liturgy and a Moleben to the Mother of God. We were warmly welcomed by Dean Father Ihor Oshchipko and the parish priest, Father Yaroslav Pivtorak. Especially touching was the hospitality prepared for us by the parish community—delicious food, kindness, and a truly family atmosphere. We wholeheartedly thank Father Yaroslav, his wife Dobrodiyka Emiliya, and all the parishioners for this extraordinary care and hospitality that we will carry in our hearts.

On Saturday, May 17, we participated in the Divine Liturgy at the miraculous shrine of Our Lady of the Cape. Prayer at this Marian center, alongside numerous testimonies of faith, gave us spiritual strength. Later, we visited St. Joachim Parish, where Father Ihor blessed each of us with the relics of Saint Joachim—the father of the Most Holy Mother of God. This moment was very personal and deeply memorable.

On Sunday, May 18, we arrived at the historic Notre-Dame de Québec Basilica. Inside the church, we prayed before the relics of numerous saints, including Blessed Bishop Vasyl Velychkovsky and Bishop Nykyta Budka—Ukrainian New Martyrs of the 20th century.

After lunch, we headed to Saint Anne de Beaupré Basilica, where we had a profound and emotionally rich tour. Here, we learned about numerous healings, miracles, and the role of Saint Anne as the mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Upon returning to the hotel, we had dinner, donned our vyshyvankas (embroidered shirts), and with special reverence, went to the evening Liturgy in Ukrainian in the Basilica’s main church.

This was truly the culmination of our entire pilgrimage. The silence and grandeur of the church, the Divine Liturgy in Ukrainian, sincere and powerful prayers for peace in Ukraine, the singing of “God, Great and Only,” and the participation of children as altar servers and members of the Marian Sodality—we felt the presence of the Holy Spirit. After the Liturgy, we prayed during the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, participated in a candlelight procession, and collectively offered the Supplication prayer.

On Monday, May 19, we began our journey home. Throughout the bus ride, communal prayer, singing, and spiritual reflections resonated. We prayed the Rosary and the Jesus Prayer, and asked questions which our spiritual director, Father Ihor Huska, answered with great patience and love. His constant presence, deep spirituality, pastoral words, and openness to every pilgrim were invaluable support for all of us. Our sincere thanks to Father Ihor for guiding us on this spiritual path.

This pilgrimage will remain in our hearts forever. It became a source of renewed faith, strengthened hope, and deepened love for God, the Church, our people, and our neighbors.
